These Are Fragments and Quotations Taken With Observation Tools, in Order to Understand Where We Are, Where We Have Been and Where We Want to Go. By Changing Perspectives and Viewpoints, One Can Break up Habitual Ways of Perceiving and Embrace New Ways of Gazing.
The view of the earth from outside changed our perspective fundamentally. It opened our eyes to the fact that the earth is a unique, limited home that we share. Until then, we had only focused on the city and the world around us from below, and our perspective was directed towards the ground. But then something unexpected happened. One day we lifted our heads and saw all the space around us. At that moment we realised that master plans do not exist only in black and white. We began to make new plans that saw our world in a completely new light.
1_The In-Finite Observation
The “Glimpse of the Un-Limited” defies known dimensions. Space is a finite resource. What would spaces be like if they were endless or resources not
finite?
New View
This new gaze frees itself from thinking in terms of finiteness. It opens wide in space and time in order to discover the distant via the next after the next. The observer, deepened in infinite focussing, reaches a state of floating in the infinities of space and time. The depth freezes.New Perspective
This new perspective loses beginning and end without struggling with time in space. The infinite open space seems limited without being limiting.The alignment and focusing of one's own gaze makes it possible to classify one's own position on the infinite timeline in infinite space. Distances become a humorous moment.New Perception
A new understanding of our great responsibility in these endless movements and journeys makes itself visible. The slight inaccuracies of the parallelisms of space and thus of the guidance of our gazes, liberate us from the obsessively fixed images and open up possibilities for new approaches. If we understand ourselves as travellers on an infinitely large circular path, perhaps on an opening spiral, other solutions to problems become visible and possible.
2_The Back Observation
The “Glimpse of the Past” serves as a portal for the observer to see past events and analyse them in the present. What would be if links between today and yesterday become visible and could be reclassified?
New View
This new gaze superimposes scenes, impressions and truths of past moments on the present. Through the double reflection, it puts us back into the original picture which was actually "seen" in the past. Elements from the past are superimposed on our view of the present and the future. Clearly and foreseeably, our habit of seeing "wrongly" in retrospect becomes apparent after a 180° turn of the inclined observer and a comparative look directly at the fragment.New Perspective
The joyful look forward into the past, which is now possible in this way, with the soothing security of the now correct images, solves old overcoming and sometimes unpleasantly bulky contradictions. By correcting the deformations in our viewing habits, real-time comparisons now become possible; it becomes the new normal to synchronize the now and the before. An actual dialogue of times emerges, with us as active facilitators. This simultaneity we invent reorders us, in space and time.New Perception
Things now fit together that seemed incompatible and contradictory, new connections are recognizable and understandable. With the now usable knowledge from the gone, we look anew at the now and next. The picture becomes clearer, decisions become better, understanding is sought and sometimes found, relaxation and peace in retrospect return. Temporarily! Until the present impatiently demands attention and action now.
3_The Around Observation
By observing with the “Glimpse of the Current” it is possible to look at current issues from different perspectives. What would be if new perspectives open up and inspire alternative actions?
New View
The horizontal is our preferred view, in the vertical we quickly lose orientation and security of movement in space. Therefore we leave the above and the below to greater powers. Nonetheless, the present demands a hard moment of truth and personal balance, where we stand, where we see ourselves. The view of others on us in the now is colored, it remains a comment, a sketch, sometimes flattering, sometimes rude, often unhelpful. Hence this machine with a clear precise and vertically axial orientation. Evasions are futile, our coordinates become clear.New Perspective
With the new data and images about ourselves that we receive with this machine, a new awareness of ourselves in the now and here emerges. We use it to expand the space for ourselves and the community and rediscover "the others". We exchange coordinates, see further and place ourselves in other positions in play and seriousness. By the hard cut of the individual balance by this machine, the perception of the present and thus of the truth has changed strongly. The knowledge of one's own coordinates and those of the "others" in space, at this very precise point in time shows a true image of the situation in the now, but also shows the simultaneity of different truths. This new view is boldly looking out towards the future. Opening and closing, it allows dense focussing as well as open scattering of searching glances. Turning deep into the space, the gesture of looking forward acquires special power. Movement emerges, time becomes an ally, playfully divided and recomposed. Colors and shapes fill the space, structures rearrange it. Resonances and echoes from past and present let the pictures resound anew and give rhythm and scale. Future appears ready. The self-commitment to create glimpses of the future are a promise, an agreement with oneself in the interest of all. Demanding responsibility and modesty in the face of infinite possibilities, but at the same time acting comprehensively and conciliatory on resistance and doubt. The past has been, the present cannot be touched, the future lets us choose. Looking forward, participating as part of the whole in the creation of the future is infinite. Through the “Glimpse of the Collective” moving from individual observation to a collective view is given. Observing different times, scales and spaces is the fundamental action for change. What would be if above all, together and interdisciplinary, great changes are created?
